  • Julie holds up a cross to protect herself from the Phantoms and said “I know I saw something. I’m not crazy.” Then Luke says “Well, we’re all a little crazy.” Then Julie continues screaming at him.
  • Julie asked the Phantoms “Who are you, and what are you doing in my mom’s studio?” Then Luke said “Your mom’s studio? This is our studio.”
  • Luke asked Julie for her name then he introduces himself while Julie is still holding up a cross to protect herself from Luke.
  • Luke told Julie when he first enters inside her house “Hey Julie, I really like what you guys did with the place.” Then Julie replies “You shouldn’t be here.”
  • When Julie's dad was touching the band's instruments, Luke looks to Julie with discontent. The implication was that he was telling her to get him to stop. Julie follows through by attempting to pull her dad out of the studio.
  • Luke and Julie have a heartfelt conversation about the band losing everything and Julie losing her mom.
  • Luke tells Julie “I’m so sorry” when Julie tells Luke that her mom passed away.
  • Julie tells Luke and the guys that they can stay in her mother's studio.

Bright[]

  • At the beginning of the episode, Luke poofed out Alex and Reggie (along with himself) to give Julie privacy.
  • When Julie greeted the guys warmly, Luke was the first to smile.
  • Luke complimented Julie's voice after she left.
  • Luke asked Julie about her dream box.
  • Julie responded with "That's off limits."
  • Luke scoffs and smiles, saying "Oh, okay. Girl stuff."
  • Julie folds her arms in frustration at the guys.
  • Julie tells the guys that the contents of the box are none of the guys' business, resulting in a slightly saddened look from Luke.
  • Luke says that Julie should just tell her dad about the ghosts, and when Julie sarcastically says "you're kidding, right?", Luke's smile drops.
  • After Julie explains her reasoning, Luke agrees and says "Yeah, you probably shouldn't tell him," whilst walking back to Julie's dream box. He longingly says "Julie...", trying to get her to open up about the box.
  • Julie yells at Luke, saying "Oh my gosh, I thought I told you to leave that alone!"
  • Luke yells back, saying "I know, you just should've said nothing because now I can't stop thinking about it!"
  • After Luke asks one more time, Julie opens up about it, telling him the box's name and that it contains random thoughts she has.
  • Luke asks "Like lyrics?" and Julie justs responds that they would be if she still wrote music. Instead it's just a bunch of stuff that doesn't make her sad.
  • Luke guves her a sympathetic look.
  • After Alex spills the fact that they heard Julie in the garage that morning, Luke backhands him in the shoulder.
  • Luke changes the subject by climbing onto her bed and saying "So where is your kitchen by the way?" while looking up and smiling at Julie.
  • Julie bends down with a fake smile softly stating that they need to set some boundaries.
  • Luke smiles back at her.
  • Julie yells "Stay out of my room!", shocking Luke and causing him to flinch and run out of the room.
  • Later, Julie goes down to the kitchen to find Luke staring into an open fridge.
  • She flinches, saying "I'm never gonna get used to that."
  • Julie asks if the guys even eat, and when Luke says "I just want to see what you got," Julie closes the fridge on him.
  • Luke yells, "Hey! Do you know how long it took me to open that?" Julie sarcastically responds with "Sorry, I don't believe in wasting power," while beginning to make a sandwich.
  • Luke says "Good. 'Cause that's exactly what I wanted to talk to you about."
  • Julie says, confused, "Our power usage?"
  • Luke responds with "No. The power that you have." Julie looks at him confused again. He says, "Your voice? Your piano playing? Dude, you're like a human wrecking ball."
  • Julie laughs lightly, saying, "Is this a pep talk?"
  • Luke, completely seriously, says "What I'm saying is that you have the power to move people. To knock them off their feet. And there is no way your teachers wouldn't let you back into school if they heard you play like that!"
    • Julie sighs in the middle of his sentence, turning away from him to continue making her sandwich.
  • Julie says "I asked her, and she said I have to wait until next semester."
  • Luke scoffs at her answer, wakling a bit away from Julie. "That was your first mistake. Asking. Sunset Curve booked gigs by doing. We went into ambush mode. We played in front of clubs, we played in the back of clubs, we even played book clubs."
  • Julie looks at him in disbelief. "Book clubs?"
    • Luke says in response "Yeah, we didn't get many gigs out of that one but they did have some pretty gnarly snacks."
  • After Julie looks away again to keep making her sandwich, Luke continues talking. "I'm just saying don't ask for permission. Swing that wrecking ball of talent of yours at your teacher's head and smash those stupid rules right out of their brains."
  • Julie smiles at him. "This isn't a club, it's a school, and your plan sounds violent."
  • Luke smiles back. "It's a closed door, and you gotta bust it open."
    • Midsentence, he stuck his head through a cabinet door that Julie was opening, which caused her to flinch backward, though she otherwise ignored it.
  • Julie walks away from him, to which he promptly followed her back to the fridge, apologizing. "Sorry. Once I get started with the metaphors, I can't stop. I learned that in book club.
    • When she opened the fridge, Luke hovered over her shoulder, standing closely behind her.
  • Julie rolled her eyes and smiled. "They're not just gonna let me back in."
    • While she was talking, she accidentally walked through Luke, causing her to pause in confusion and shock for a moment.
  • The two of them stopped talking for a few seconds to look at eachother, with Luke grinning.
  • Luke says to Julie (this time standing righ tnext to her making eye contact), "If getting back into music is what you want then you gotta go for it."
  • As Julie was about to take a bite of the sandwich she had been making, Luke looked at and said "Learn from me. Your tainted hot dog could be right around the corner."
    • Julie put her sandwich down and opted not to eat it.
  • Julie sighs and looks up at him. "I don't even have anything prepared."
  • Luke pulls out a piece of folded up paper from his pocket. "Thought you'd say that. It's called Bright, it's a Sunset Curve song that I wrote and we never got to record but it's perfect for your range and just check out the chorus for a second. If you add a little bit of piano, I'm telling you."
  • Luke begins to sing the songs to Julie, starting with the first part of the chorus. Julie joins in once she hears how the songs is supposed to sound, cuasing them to have a short duet.
  • Luke tells her to go up higher for the last lyric, "bright forever", which incidentally is their first harmony of the show.
  • Julie smiles at him saying thanks, to which Luke just stays silent and nods with a smile. They keep intimate eye contact for the rest of the scene until Julie breaks away at the last second.
  • During Carrie's performance of "Wow", Luke and the rest of the guys poof in next to Julie.
  • Julie asks them what they're doing at her school, to which Luke responds with "We wanted to see you stick it to the man!"
  • When Alex started dancing to Dirty Candy's song (thusly making Julie nervous), Luke grabbed him and motioned for him to cut it out in solidarity for Julie.
  • Luke reassuringly looked back at Julie.
  • When Carrie's song ended, Julie looks directly at Luke saying "I just don't think I had enough time to work on the song."
  • Luke tells Julie “I wouldn’t have given you the song if I didn’t think you were gonna rock it. Now, there’s a piano on that stage with your name on it.”
  • Luke nods at Julie one last time before she marches off to the stage.
  • Julie nervously messes up the first chord, playing a D major when it should've been an F major.
    • Julie looks over at the guys, and Luke whisper yells "you got this!"
  • When Julie starts singing, Luke lip syncs with her, mouthing the words as he looks at the rest of the guys.
  • Luke and the guys poof onstage at the chorus, much to Julie's surprise.
    • Right when they join in, Luke is seen smiling and looking at Julie.
    • Julie quickly gets up and starts jamming with Luke for a few moments before turning to Reggie.
  • When the band notices that their entire school can see the guys, Julie closes the distance between her and Luke asking "Uh, is this really happening?"
  • Almost immediately, Luke responds with "Just go with it!" And starts to sing the second verse.
  • Luke, for the majority of the time singing, looks at Julie.
  • During the bridge of the song, Julie walks over to Luke and leads him away from his mic by offering hers. The two have a duet whilst sharing a microphone and making eye contact.
  • At the end of the bridge, Julie walks through Luke as an homage to the scene in the kitchen.
  • As Julie was hitting all the high notes in the third chorus, Luke was staring at her in adoration and disbelief.

Flying Solo[]

  • Luke was the one that suggested to Alex and Reggie that they should invite her to join their band “Sunset Curve”.
  • Luke invites Julie to join “Sunset Curve”.
  • When Julie is about ready to leave the garage, Luke tells Julie “Oh come on! We need you, and you need us because you need music. We found this poem that you wrote, and Reggie and I, we added this really cool melody to it.”
  • Julie asks Luke where he found her poem at? And Luke said “Uh.. definitely not your dream box.” Then Julie gets mad at Luke for going through her stuff.
  • Luke tells Julie “Hey, you need to realize how insanely talented you are.”
  • Julie ignores Luke's request the first time, saying she can only focus on her issues with Flynn at the moment.
  • Luke (and the rest of Sunset Curve) help Julie reconcile with Flynn.
  • Luke asks Julie again if she'll join the band.
  • Flynn says that, conversely, the guys will be joining [Julie's] band, to which Luke smiles at.

I Got the Music[]

  • Julie tells Flynn that she spent the whole weekend writing songs with Luke.

  • Julie catches them immediately and tells them how disappointed she is in them.
  • Luke states that they'll "do whatever it takes, we'll play the next school," to which Julie refuses saying, "What? Another dance where you can bail on me and make me look like a fool?"
  • Julie tells the guys that the songs she wrote with Luke were good, and that the band knew what she had been through after her mom died (being unable to play a single note for almost a year), which made them missing the dance hurt more for her.
  • Julie says (vaguely) "This was a mistake." Luke follows up by saying "You mean the school dance, right?" She responds with "No. I mean joining a band with you guys."
  • Julie quits the band, leaving the guys in the school gym. Luke states that without Julie, there is no band.
